This is the laboratory manual for the first course in the General Physics sequence. The course covers classical mechanics and is required of all students . Laboratory Manual: The manual is available from the Society of Physics Students and is not available from any bookstore. A schedule showing the hours SPS will be selling the manuals will be posted. Students must purchase a lab manual before their second lab meeting (i.e., before Friday 5 Sep ). Here are also included 9 laboratory exercises dedicated to topics from the teaching program in Physics I, i.e. mechanics of solids and fluids, electricity, electromagnetism and Estimated Reading Time: 2 mins.
B. General Remarks. The aim of a lab course in the Advanced Physics Teaching Lab is: • Learn physics by proper preparation for the experiments and by doing. • Learn experimental techniques. All theories have to be proven by experiments and new discoveries mostly come from very advanced measurements. The following is a list of experiments prepared for Physics , General Physics Laboratory II. These experiments are performed in room of the E. E. O’Banion (New) Science Building. Accompanying the experiments are suggested pre-lab activities that provide an orientation to each lab; these are provided before the main write-up.
